The loop cable had broken.

A well-attended community venue: regular services, healing sessions and public events. People come to listen, and some of them rely on a hearing aid to do it.

When VEHDA surveyed the building, this is what we found.

The church hall: rows of red chairs facing a wooden lectern.
The main hall, set for a service.
  • No hearing loop. With the cable broken, hearing-aid users couldn't follow services at all.
  • Temperamental sound. The old system cut out mid-service, at the worst moments.
  • No eyes on the building. A busy, public-facing venue with no cameras and no doorbell.
  • Patchy connectivity. No managed broadband or Wi-Fi across the building.
  • No one to call. No ongoing support when something went wrong.

Clear sound in every seat.

One provider surveyed the whole building, found every fault, and specified a complete system built around how the church actually runs.

The new rack: one amplifier with clearly labelled inputs for every source.

A new sound system

A commercial amplifier at the heart of it. Three wireless microphones: two on the lectern, and a lapel mic so presenters can move around the room. Two new wall-mounted speakers give even coverage through the hall, with a CD player built in for music during services. Simple enough for anyone to run.

A hearing loop that works

A brand-new induction loop replaced the broken one. Hearing-aid users can follow every service again, without having to sit in one particular spot.

The loop is whole again.

Eyes on every door.

Cameras now cover the fire exit, front entrance, car park and side access. A video doorbell at the main entrance lets the committee talk to visitors, day and night.

On a phone

Every camera, viewable from anywhere.

Plus managed broadband and Wi-Fi across the building, so remote viewing just works.

One local provider now looks after the church's sound, hearing loop, cameras and Wi-Fi.

“The difference is night and day. Everyone can hear clearly now, the microphones just work, and we finally feel secure. VEHDA took care of everything from start to finish.”
